The 15th Annual Golden Gavel Awards Celebration held on May 22, 2008 raised nearly $170,000!!

  An enjoyable evening was had by all!  Lester Munson again be served as our Master of Ceremonies. He delighted the crowd with his witty remarks! Our more than 250 guests enjoyed the sounds of the Scales of Justice, the fine food and drink provided by the staff at Northern Trust, and the presentation of the awards.


The Golden Gavel Awards are presented each year to individuals, law firms or corporations that make significant contributions to further the mission of CARPLS Legal Aid, those who believe in CARPLS’ work and who share our view that access to legal services can be increased through the use of innovation, collaboration and technology. Honorees are selected by a committee of the Board of Directors for their dedication to providing legal services to those in critical need of but unable to afford legal representation. Honorees have committed their time and energy to CARPLS and its clients and deserve public recognition for their efforts.
